Context

Activities carried out
- Technical support to the Hunan Province Project Management Office (PMO) for tasks related to project implementation, including monitoring and control of activities, procurement and disbursements.
- Provision of detailed qualitative and quantitative information to AFD for the annual project progress report.
- Formulation of recommendations to the PMO and AFD to improve project implementation and explain any observed or anticipated discrepancies between planned activities and results achieved.
- Assistance to the PMO in preparing technical, financial, procurement and disbursement forecast tables and plans to be included in the annual progress report.
Project details
The project aims to strengthen sustainable forest management in Hunan Province, China, covering a total area of 17,466 hectares. It focuses particularly on the restoration of bamboo forests, which are essential for biodiversity, ecosystem services and local livelihoods. Actions include the planting of 10,443 hectares and the rehabilitation of 7,033 hectares of bamboo forests, with an emphasis on the use of native species adapted to local ecological conditions.
