Martin Perrier fr esen developpement foretchangement-climatique

mperrierMartin Perrier is the Director of ONF-International. He graduated from the National Agronomic Institute in Paris-Grignon and the French Forestry School (Ecole des Eaux et Forêts). In addition to his training in the domains of development, forestry and public administration he has equally acquired solid experience in project and team management as head of silvicultural and research activities and Deputy Director in one of ONF's agencies. He then joined ONF headquarters in Paris to head the technical and commercial section of the forest and carbon department at the national level. He now pilots the development of ONFI's activities and assures the interface between different projects, themes and subsidiaries. He has brought with him his expertise in project elaboration and financing in addition to his knowledge of carbon markets.

photo_mcalmelMarie joined the ONFI team in 2009 having recently graduated from the Superior Institute for Engineering and Environmental Management (ISIGE) in Paris (Ecole de Mines). Her former experience led her to undertake several stints in Indonesia where she worked for diverse NGOs on the elaboration and control of projects in conservation, rural development and most recently avoided deforestation. She is familiar with the problems facing tropical forests and the fight against global warming, in addition to corresponding project mechanisms (CDM and REDD) to help alleviate these problems. Currently she is most notably involved in the development and implementation of a REDD methodology in Indonesia, in addition to the monitoring and development of ONF-I's REDD activities.

Clément is a graduate student from the Ecole Normale Supérieure de Lyon (ENS-Lyon, élève normalien) and from the Ecole Nationale du Génie Rural, des Eaux et Forêts (ENGREF, Paris Institute of Technology). He is specialized in carbon finance (CDM, EU-ETS, Voluntary markets), forestry and ecology. He joined ONF International in 2009 as business development director after a work experience at the Paris office of Ernst & Young, where he initiates et developed forestry audit activities and served various public & private clients such as Total, Exxonmobil, Suez-GDF, Air-France KLM, Lafarge, Air Liquide, European Commission, etc. He is also associate professor at the Ecole des Mines de Paris on Carbon Finance and co-founder of Green Synergie.

 

Jean-Guénolé Cornet fr en es pt ru

jg_cornetForest Engineer and Economist from the University of Strathclyde in Scotland, Jean-Guénolé first worked in the elaboration of integrated natural resource management plans in the high plateaus of Central Asia. He then joined the forest management planning project in the Central African Republic (PARPAF) for 2 years. He joined ONFI in 2006 in Colombia where he was responsible for a 4 000 ha carbon sink afforestation project (Proyecto de Reforestación Comercial de Cormagdalena). He also intervened in the sub-region on a punctual basis, notably for the elaboration of a co-generation project from waste biomass. He returned to ONFI headquarters in Paris in early 2008, where he now provides his expertise to the ONFI team in the areas of plantation establishment, forest management planning and bio-energy. He coordinates several projects for ONFI in Africa and South America.

 

Hajar Benelcadi fr en

hbenelcadi4Hajar is engineer in geomatics graduated from the National School of Geographical Sciences of Paris and from the Sciences and Techniques University of Tangier (Morocco). As well as achieving her thesis on the treatment of satellite radar images, she is working as a project officer for ONFI on the spatial high-resolution radar follow-up of tropical forest covers and on the estimation of the forest stocks of carbon. Hajar is involved in the projects' components in connection with remote sensing and geographical information systems, in the sector of REDD+, CDM, and more generally in any sector related to lands occupation and natural resources management.

jdemenoisJulien Demenois gained strong experience from his Agronomic and Forestry engineering education, joining the team after having notably spent more than 5 years in French Guyana. He brings with him his experience in the elaboration and monitoring of research activities, his knowledge of the problematic facing tropical forest management and his implication in local development projects (community management). Moreover, Julien assures the coordination of carbon expertise within the framework of projects on afforestation/reforestation, bio-energy and agriculture (CDM, MOC and voluntary standards).

 

Thomas Dufour fr en

tdufourThanks to his joint University and forest engineer background Thomas specialises in the questions of research as applied to the elaboration of afforestation projects. Thomas has been working on the theme of climate change since 2001 and joined the ONFI team in 2004 after a rather research orientated career (CIRAD, CIFOR). He spent the first 3 years of his ONFI career in Colombia working most notably on the development of the national Colombian CDM forestry programme and the elaboration of CDM methodologies. Today he works from our headquarters in Paris, where he is responsible for all technical and methodological questions linked to the elaboration of ONFIs diverse afforestation projects within the framework of the CDM, MOC, voluntary markets and domestic projects. He also intervenes in the various training sessions proposed by ONFI, in addition to undertaking the realisation of carbon assessments.

quentin-delvienne_2011Quentin Delvienne is a forest engineer. He joined the ONFI team in May 2011. He is responsible for the process of calls for tenders and is also involved in technical expertise missions. Quentin is currently based in Brussels, Belgium, where he is in charge (with his colleague Nicolas Grondard) of developing ONFI representation at European Authorities level. He has a large experience and previously worked for international engineering consulting firms (AGRER (BE), LIFESCIENCE (HP)). He was a forest expert for German Cooperation in Cameroon (GIZ, ProPSFE (ALL)) in decentralized management of forest resources, forest planning, forest classification, certification, forest legislation review, local and rural development, forest tax system, integrated land use planning, projects management and planning. He has a good knowledge of tropical ecosystems especially mangrove forests.

After five years in the Congo Basin as a Manager of forest development and certifications (OLB, FSC), but also as a site foreman for private forest companies, Arthur joined the ONFI team to share his know-how and to monitor project activities from Paris headquarters. His field experience and polyvalence are highly valuable for technical expertise, especially to bring support to the abroad subsidiaries of the group.

nicolasgAgricultural Economist, Nicolas possesses almost ten years of professional experience principally in Latin America and Africa with consulting firms, donors and NGOs within the agricultural, forest and environmental sectors. Following 4 years of fieldwork in agricultural and rural project monitoring and management in Africa, he then pursued his experiences with consulting companies, carrying out feasibility studies, monitoring and evaluation of projects in the agricultural sector, natural resource management and the domains of forest and climate change (CDM and REDD). He is very implicated in avoided deforestation projects, and coordinates the project and institutional dimensions of the REDD theme within ONFI.

Pierre LennePierre is an Agronomist who joined ONFI in 2002 in order to apply his expertise in agriculture and livestock rearing to forest plantation projects in Colombia. He has spent the last 5 years in Colombia having built-up solid experience in the development, coordination and control of projects, including in the themes of forest plantations, livestock rearing, climate change, valorisation of biomass and local development. Pierre has been based in Temuco (Araucanie region of Chile) since 2007 where he manages the subsidiary ONF Conosur. He also oversees the coordination of projects on sustainable natural resource management with the native Mapuche (Araucanie) and Rapa Nui (Easter Island) communities and the execution of plantation projects and management of private sector forests.

Anne joined the ONFI team in 2008 following her training as an engineer in tropical agronomy and forestry. Several hands on experiences in rural development principally in Latin America have enabled her to gain a strong understanding of the causes of deforestation. She began her career at ONFI by working on the construction of a baseline scenario for a REDD project in Colombia. She is currently working on the coordination and implementation of a REDD research project combining both the operational and conceptual components.

Jean-Baptiste RoutierJean-Baptisite is a biologist and geographer. He has built-up an original experience in combining his knowledge of the tropical environment with that of spatial analysis and remote sensing. He began his work experience in remote sensing in 2000 in the deserts of Mauritania (CNRS, CIRAD, CLAA) working on the monitoring of invasive plants. In 2001 he went to Saudi Arabia to work as technical assistant for the National Wildlife Research Centre on their Houbara bustard reintroduction programme. He spent 4 years in the post during which he was able to build a solid experience in fieldwork by working on wildlife management and the monitoring of natural resources. This was equally an occasion for him to work on a Houbara Bustard migration programme through the use of ARGOS markers. In 2005 he joined the French Cooperation in Colombia in order to coordinate the implementation of a CORINE Land Cover data base of the entire watershed of the Magdalena River. Following on from this he then developed applications for CDM methodologies, land use cover changes and the characteristics of vegetation types in Colombian national parks. Since 2008 he has been working in Paris at ONFI headquarters on the theme of avoided deforestation (REDD) in addition to responding to project needs in terms of geomatic issues.

sspeedBritish Forestry Engineer, Steven has worked in France in the forestry / natural resource management sectors for almost 10 years. He first worked as Technical Assistant for the International Technical Association for Tropical Timber (ATIBT) where he was notably responsible for the elaboration and monitoring of projects linked to sustainable forest management. He joined ONFI in 2004 as Project Officer and has since acquired a solid experience in protected area management and biodiversity, thanks notably to his projects managed in the Caucasus region and Eastern Europe (Armenia, Georgia and Romania). He is currently very implicated in the promotion and coordination of ONFI's professional training services towards forestry companies and institutions, notably in the development of Reduced Impact Logging techniques (RIL).

 

Pascal Cuny

photopcunyPascal is responsible for the "City of Paris - Carbon sink project" in Cameroon and is climate change (REDD mechnaism) Project Officer for the COMIFAC in collaboration with WWF in the Congo Basin. He graduated from ENGREF and ENSAIA (Nancy). He has wide experience in the domain of reforestation (Burundi, Rwanda, Gabon), forest management (Ivory Coast), forest research on local species (Mali) and community management of natural resources (Mali, Cameroon). He has carried out numerous missions for the formulation and evaluation of programmes/projects in Central and West Africa for the account of the FAO, World Bank, CIRAD and French, Swiss and British delegations.

 

 

Françoise Plancheron fr en

Françoise is a biologist and ecologist specialising in tropical forests (ENGREF Montpellier 1990). She worked for ONFs Research and Development Department (R&DD) for more than 10 years and in 1997 was at the origin of the R&DD in Guyana. In Guyana her areas of work included: establishing of plantations with local species, replanting of gold mining sites, monitoring of forest dynamics, experimenting with silvicultural interventions and the improvement of forest management methods. For the last year or so she has occupied the post of technical Director of the Communal Forest Technical Centre (Technique de la Forêt Communale) in Cameroon. The latter are operators of the PAF2C programme.

 

Laurent Teillier fr en foret plantations

As a forest engineer Laurent Tellier has gained wide experience in tropical forest management planning in addition to afforestation. He has notably worked on the Eucalyptus plantations in Pointe Noire (Congo) for the CTFT then in French Guyana for ONF. He joined SYLVAFRICA in 2002, the Gabonese subsidiary of ONFI, for which he now assures the management. He notably pilots the forestry management planning activities of forest companies in the sub-region.

ymgaretteEnvironmental Economist, Yves-Marie has worked on the themes of forestry, climate change and carbon for almost ten years. Following a 2 year experience in the Central African Republic (AFD), he then became Director of ONF Brazil for 3 years, a subsidiary of ONFI, and was notably responsible for the Peugeot / ONF Carbon Sink project.  He then piloted several projects in Latin America and Africa, during which he completed diverse missions involving project elaboration, business plan preparation, technical support and project monitoring and evaluation. Within the framework of international Climate negotiations, Yves-Marie animates since 2004 training and support workshops for forest sector negotiators from Latin American and Central African countries. He has participated in carbon market studies; REDD mechanisms and CDM forestry and energetic projects. He is currently working on the question of the supplying of biomass for energetic projects.

For 4 years she has participated in the development of forestry activities for ONF Andina, through conception, implementation, control and evaluation of projects related to forestry, biological carbon sinks and integrated land management. Moreover, she possesses strong experience in financial/economic management and evaluation of these types of projects.

agraffinAmbroise Graffin has worked on the themes of reforestation and bio-energy for more than 10 years, in different regions of the globe (South America, North Africa and France). Ambroise is a Forest Engineer and he has acquired solid technical and human resources experience through the direct management of operational projects such as Peugeot / ONF Carbon Sink in Mato Grosso (Brazil) or the creation of a wood energy subsidiary within ONF (France). Ambroise is currently based in Belem, Brazil where he identifies and implements forestry projects on various themes for private investors or cooperation funds in partnership with Brazilian institutions.
