Once a forest management plan has been validated, SYLVAFRICA and ONFI then support forestry companies towards the practical implementation of the said plans. This support often leans on specifications internal to the company.

The installation of a management plan elaboration and implementation unit with trained personnel, organisation of timber prospecting teams (harvesting inventories), GIS database system and ad hoc procedures, make up part of the initial tasks that guarantee the efficiency and profitability of the management plan process over the long term.

We also provide support towards the implementation of the monitoring of harvesting activities (permanent sample plots), the elaboration of intermediary management documents - perennial management and annual operations plans and the practical implementation of socio-environmental measures.

Once a company has recruited and trained its management plan specialists and the various procedures are implemented, SYLVAFRICA withdraws from the process, providing support uniquely for targeted requests (updating of the management plan, ensuring of partnerships with NGOs, enhancing relations with forest administrations and helping companies understand official proceedures....).
