Tropical forests constitute a considerable challenge both at the global level for biodiversity conservation and the fight against global warming, and at the local level, for satisfying the needs of forest dependant people, and the dynamics of national economies.
Over the past 20 years ONF and ONFI have developed a solid experience in sustainable management of tropical production forests. This experience has been reinforced by the management experiences in French Guyana in partnership with various research institutions. Collectively ONF and ONFI have participated in the sustainable management of more than 6 million hectares of tropical forest in Latin America, Africa and Oceania.
Today, notably through its Gabonese subsidiary "SYLVAFRICA", ONFI proposes a series of services to the public and private sectors related to SFM in Central Africa.
